Renewed as Microsoft MVP
My Microsoft MVP award was renewed for 2026–2027 — my first renewal, one year after joining the program.

This week, during my summer holiday, I was refreshing my mailbox in between activities when the email came in on Wednesday afternoon: my Microsoft MVP award has been renewed for 2026–2027! It’s my first renewal — last year I joined the program — so I can officially make it two years now.
Looking back on a year as a Microsoft MVP
Being recognized as a Microsoft MVP has been an incredible experience, perhaps even overwhelming at times.
I had absolutely no clue as to what being a Microsoft MVP would entail.
It turns out there’s SO much information to absorb that at times I just took a few steps back to process everything and figure out how I see myself within this program.
What I mean by that is that people become an MVP for so many different reasons that you don’t want to compare yourself to them or feel inadequate. It’s important to find your own path and contribute in ways that align with your strengths and interests.
For me, I’ve kind of focussed on the things I’ve always done:
Try and share as much as I possibly can through my blogs or LinkedIn posts, things that I would like to read myself.
Unfortunately I don’t have the time in my personal life to go to all the events I would like, let alone speak at them, so I try and cherry pick what I am able to do and focus on those opportunities that align with my interests and availability.
It got me this far, hopefully that will continue to be the case in the coming year.
A lot of what I did do this year event-wise ended up on this blog, so here’s the year in links:
- Two sessions at PSConfEU 2026, including an advanced Pester workshop together with Jakub Jareš
- On air at Experts Live Radio
- A guest spot on The PowerShell Podcast
Besides the events, I’ve just tried to focus on sharing more on my blog, sharing more of the process I go through when learning new things or just catching up with the latest developments in the communities I find interesting (PowerShell, DevOps, Azure, etc.).
What’s next
All in all, I’m just very happy to get renewed and hopefully continue contributing to the community in meaningful ways over the coming year.
Thanks to everyone who came to a session, read a post or asked a question this year.
Happy scripting 😊
